Values: customer service, quality, communications, productivity and pricing.
Since our inception in 1962, Poly Vinyl Co.'s passion for supplying superior service to our customers has forged many long lasting partnerships. Along with this service excellence, our continuous improvement initiatives and quality systems have led to competitive pricing. Our company, which is privately held, reflects the core values drafted by our founders, Robert Schnettler and Richard Reichert, and preserves them through the vision of current owners Tom and Jim Schnettler.
1962 - Founded
Robert Schnettler and Richard Reichert found Poly Vinyl Company, an extrusion manufacturer specializing in the manufacture of custom extruded plastic shapes. The first plant is an old 5 & 10 cent store in Sheboygan Wisconsin.
1967 - New Building
A new building was constructed in nearby Sheboygan Falls. Several expansions have grown the building from 7,200 to over 100,000 square feet today.
1975 - Sheet Sold
VPI purchases the sheet production capabilities and building, which focuses the future growth of Poly Vinyl Co. in profiles and tubing.
1983 - New Ownership
Brothers Thomas, James and Bob acquired the business after the passing of their father, Robert Schnettler. Thomas and James took full ownership in 1998.

1989 - Color Guard Division
The company started its own proprietary brand of vinyl building products, which is known today as Color Guard®, a premier, vertically integrated supplier of Maintenance-free porch and deck railing systems.
1990's - Company Growth
Sales more than double during the 90s, with the addition of major-appliance customers and many specialty customers. Product offerings were expanded with many fabrication capabilities added to the extrusion process.
2003 - ISO 9000
ISO 9000 registration is awarded to Poly Vinyl Co. after its first audit. Implementation of this system is seamless due to robust systems in place for many years.
2006 - Continuous Improvements
Continuous improvement is formalized through implementation of Lean practices and Kaizen events. These improvements have allowed for significant sales growth with reduced costs, lower PPMs and improved on-time delivery.
2009 - Paperless
The process of reducing paperwork and streamlining communication was initiated by utilizing Infinity QS, a real time SPC software package used during production, and the Circle of Knowledge, Poly Vinyl Company's intranet which allows employees to gather and relay virtually all information companywide in real-time.
